The glorious bronze Sycamore leaf
departed from her home in the trees in mid-November
She was not the first leaf to leave*
so to speak
and she wouldn't be the last
She began her adventure Away
at a time of her own choosing
and stopped midway down in a
welcoming Walnut tangle
She finished her journey
to the Great Ground Below
in late-November
again at a time of her own choosing
in spite of winds
and storms
and falling branches
she landed when she wanted
as she wanted
and joined a
Sacred Leaf Gathering below
as it pleased her to do...
A supposed lack of Free Agency
be damned

*Leaf/leave puns and allegories have long been a favorite of many branches** of Sycamore.
**Ditto for branch puns... which the Streams also enjoy
